Career
Malaika attended Holy Cross High School Thane beginning in 9th grade, before finishing secondary education from Swami Vivekananda School, Chembur. Following graduation she was accepted to attend Jai Hind College but due to work dedication did not complete the courses. As MTV made waves across India she became one of only few chosen VJs hosting their inaugural show “Club MTV”, commercials to promote various brands as well as song “Gud Naalo Ishq Mitha” by Bally Sagoo featuring Jas Arora as her main promoter promoting song from this album “Gud Naalo Ishq Mitha”.
Malaika first rose to fame with her item number Chaiyya Chaiyya from Dil Se in 1998, garnering widespread acclaim and attention. 2008 marked her acting debut in EMI which turned out to be an unmitigated failure at the box-office. Additionally, Malaika produced Dabangg for ex-husband Salman Khan’s production company with her character being Munni Badnaam Hui. During an interview she stated she wouldn’t participate in playing any roles within it either! Malaika will also end shows such as Nach Baliye 1, Nach Baliye 2, Zara Nachke Dikha and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa while serving as anchor on India Next Top Model!
